Our Isopods
Armadillidium depressum
Southern Pill Woodlouse
A calmer, yet prolific species that tends to ball when startled.
Slower moving.
Armadillidium maculatum
Zebra IsopodsĀ
A great starter/pet species, and a favourite among isopod keepers.
Slower moving & sometimes balls when startled.
This species can be quite prolific once established, though we've found them to be less likely to out-compete than our other prolific species.
Armadillidium nasatum
Sold out
Nosy Isopods
An adaptable species that makes an excellent addition to a clean-up crew.
Slower moving & tends to ball when startled.
Armadillidium nasatum "peach"
Peach Isopods
Adaptable & quick to establish themselves, these isopods are easy to keep and a great choice whether being kept as a pet, or part of a bioactive cleanup crew.
Armadillidium peraccae
Peraccae Isopod
Prolific and voracious, though a little on the slower-moving side.. this sweet species doesn't get the attention it deserves!
Very easy to keep, but does not do well with over-crowding.
Armadillidium vulgare "magic potion"
Magic Potion Isopods (Mixed)
A beautiful, prolific & hardy morph.
Slower moving, tends to ball when startled/disturbed, and they enjoy both burrowing & clustering on cork bark.
Armadillidium vulgare "wild type"
Sold out
Common Pillbug
This species is highly adaptable, super easy to keep, but a little slow to establish & breed.
Though they look like some you may find in the wild, these isopods (like all of our isopods) are captive-bred by Curious Creatures.
Cubaris murina "papaya"
Papaya Isopods
This gorgeously pink morph is great looking in photos, but even cuter in person!
Active, adorable, and quick to establish-- it's easy to love these isopods.
This species is also small, shy, & will ball when startled.
Cubaris sp. "red tiger stripes"
Red Tiger Stripes
A beautiful Cubaris species from ThailandĀ that enjoys being pampered!
Even though they're a smaller species, they do have high calcium needs & we recommend always keeping a cuttle bone (or two) in their enclosure.
Cylisticus convexus
Curly Isopods
Fast moving and quick to reproduce, this species is a great addition to bioactive setups with higher humidity.
