Rough Woodlouse "dalmatian"
A medium-sized species that's very easy keep & prolific once established.
Very active & mostly surface dwelling.
Though babies of this Porcellio scaber morph start mostly white, they very quickly start to develop black patches and speckles.
We've been removing those with minimal patterning for a few years now and the result have been great!
Hardy and quick to establish, they're an excellent beginner species.. they're also great cleaners for terrariums with reptiles or a large amount of waste and/or detritus.
They will tolerate a decent range of conditions, but moist areas should always be provided.
We keep our 1/4 to 1/3 of our colony's bin damp with a generous amount of sphagnum moss.
They will eat just about anything and make great clean-up crew members, but we don't recommend this species be kept with molting invertebrates they could injure.
