Shy & quick to hide.
Sold out
Brickwork Isopods get their common name from the interesting pattern they possess.
Though originally from Europe, this species naturalized to the Americas long ago, and can now be found all over Canada.
Quick to bolt for cover when startled, but don't let their shyness fool you-- they're excellent cleaners that adore waste!
Porcellio spinicornis prefers an enclosure with rougher substrate, lots of wood and plenty of leaf litter.. but they're not much into burrowing and prefer clinging to the underside of cork/bark & ground litter.
While they'll reproduce quicker, and in larger numbers, when kept warmer & with higher humidity, this species is more cold & dry tolerant than some of our other cleaners.
For basic care information, see our Isopod Care page.
